How Do I Finish an AI Task and Tidy Up?
An AI task is not finished just because you have an answer.
You still need to check the result, deal with open questions and put the right version where people can find it.
Check that the task is complete
Look back at the original request and make sure the AI gave you everything the task actually needed.
Write down what is still unanswered
Do not hide open questions inside a long chat. List anything that still needs a decision, a fact check or another person’s input.
Save the approved result in the right place
Put the final version in the folder, system or page where the team expects to find it. Give it a clear name.
Remove or restrict temporary material
Clear out temporary files, old drafts and sensitive examples that do not need to stay available after the task is done.
Write one useful lesson for next time
Note what helped, what slowed things down or what should be checked earlier when you do a similar AI task again.
See it in practice
After creating a staff guide, the owner checked the links, sent one policy question to the manager, saved the approved guide in the team folder and deleted temporary customer examples.
The work has a clear final version, a named owner and no hidden loose ends.
Create a closing checklist for this AI task. List what was delivered, what is still unanswered, where the approved version is stored, what temporary or sensitive material should be removed or restricted, and who owns the next step. Task notes: [PASTE NOTES]
Edit the words in square brackets before you use it.
