Claude can help explain a document, improve a draft, compare ideas and research a question. Give it the audience, source material and the result you need, then review its answer before using it.

There are different ways to work with Claude. Chat suits a conversation about your material. Projects organise related chats and documents. Cowork can carry out several steps using folders and connected tools you allow it to access, such as preparing a report from a set of files. Claude Code is the part aimed at software development. Availability depends on your plan and device.

Claude suits writers, researchers and small businesses that spend time reading, comparing or preparing documents. An editor might use Chat to revise a draft, while someone handling repeated document tasks could test Cowork on copies of a few files.

Start with a small, ordinary job whose result you can judge. For example, turn some rough notes into a one-page brief and compare it with the originals. The useful test is whether it saves editing time while preserving the facts.

Claude can miss details, alter meaning or give an incorrect answer. Check names, figures and claims against the original material. Only connect services or folders that the task needs, and review created files before sharing them.

Cowork can use your allowance faster than Chat. Claude Code also draws on plan usage, and extra paid usage may be available. Check the limits and spending settings for your account. Chat projects and Cowork projects have different features; do not assume sharing or synchronisation works identically.

Claude deserves consideration for writing and document work, and Cowork broadens its usefulness for jobs involving several files or steps. Start with a small task and judge the finished result. A higher plan is worthwhile only when its features or allowance solve a problem you actually encounter.
